Winter! Maybe?

I know it has been uncharacteristically warm all over the US this winter. Montana is no different. It was spring like weather up to yesterday even! Just three days ago I had the front door open. This morning we woke up to snow, and a good bit of it. It finally feels like winter…icy roads, terrible drivers and all!
Aubrey is our winter baby and will forever feel most comfortable in cold weather. She had her snow gear on and the dog outside with her before I even got out of bed to make my coffee. Seriously, I’ve never seen her get dressed and out the door so fast! After a good play in the snow, Timothy went off to work and Aubrey had a mini horse meeting. Pictured below is her and her dear friend Ember. I believe Aubrey would say that making friends (humans and horses alike) has been the best thing about joining 4-H.
We are now back home in comfy clothes and enjoying this day of rest while waiting for Timothy to get off of work. I’ve come to appreciate the seasons more in the last few years,  and the different rhythms that each one brings. Winter is for slowing down, resting and savoring.
